Apparently, you don’t need to be a writer to write a blog, which is just as well because I’m not a writer; I’m a Pilates Teacher (and a Pilates Studio owner).

This is where I'll try to add another layer of understanding of what we do, how we do it and at times some shorter items of random thoughts and/or reflections.

YOUR MOST VALUABLE COMMODITY

Last weekend I had a very important reminder from my friend and colleague Andy who is British (I’ve met her virtually as we were both part of a coaching program during Covid).

Andy wrote:

“YOUR ENERGY IS YOUR MOST VALUABLE COMMODITY”

and boy, did that hit home!
Because it IS! ...

And I remember vividly the stark reminder I got how true this is back at the beginning of this year.. It’ll take me a while longer to forget how crappy I felt for about 2 months (or was it more?).

Back at the beginning of the year I was in poor health and not well at all, but the worst was:

🞜 The inability to function properly,

🞜 Constantly being tired, and

🞜 Feeling helpless, powerlessness ...



Truth is you don’t have to be really ill to get to that point.

We've ALL experienced this at some point in our lives.

Maybe you’re feeling like this right now.

🞜 Everything feels heavy, demanding,oppressive and exhausting.

🞜 You feel like you cannot do what you
know you need to do, have to do.

🞜 You don’t *want* to do anything.


Even when you try to think hard of things you usually like to do, or used to like doing - they all seem out of your reach now, they seem unworkable, insurmountable, a pie in the sky.

You just feel crappy and fed-up with everything and everybody.

Lack of EnergyNO ENERGY. NO MOTIVATION. NO NOTHING.

And that SUCKS.
And you don’t know how to get rid of this and

GET BACK TO YOURSELF.



YOU DON’T KNOW HOW (OR WHAT) TO CHANGE

And you've heard the usual “helpful tips”:

⦿ “Go for a walk”but you’re too tired, you’re literally just in the door after a long day, it’s getting dark now, it’s raining, there’s a load of washing waiting for you, there’s kids homework [...]

⦿ “Change your diet”so now you have to go shopping, find the right recipe, cook [...]

⦿ “Exercise”but you don’t like exercising, you don’t have the energy, you don’t have time and maybe you have this back thing, knee thing, hip thing, balance thing, coordination thing [...]

This ☝ (above) – that’s called BEING STUCK!

And if you’re there at the moment then

YOU KNOW SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE


🞜 If you don’t know how to go about it, or

🞜 Things you tried didn't seem to work, or

🞜 The things you tried only work for a short while

Then you are missing a key component that facilitates the changes that need to happen:

Your Nervous System.

The change comes when we address your Nervous System responses.

  • It is your Nervous System that connects
    YOUR BRAIN to YOUR BODY.
  • It’s the system that connects THINK & DO
  • IT'S YOUR MIND, ENERGY & TAKING ACTION

When you are STUCK you need both YOUR BRAIN and YOUR BODY to GET TOGETHER to CREATE the CHANGES you need and crave!

This is exactly what what we do in the studio.

No, we don't simply teach you exercises on weird looking pieces of equipment.

We purposefully, skillfully, intentionally address your Nervous System and the brain-body connections to facilitate the necessary changes that need to happen for you to be ABLE show up in your life with ease, confidence & focused energy
(as you juggle work, home, family and the mini-crises that show up at every turn).
